L'hotel a conduzione familiare, ospitato in un bellissimo edificio storico risalente al 1900, è pieno di carattere e offre un vero pezzo della vecchia Salisburgo. La sala colazione, con le sue splendide panche in velluto blu, irradia lo splendore del XIX secolo e ha conservato il suo fascino storico con l'arredamento interno e le caratteristiche originali mantenute. Le camere sono arredate in stile rustico con mobili tradizionali, decorazioni delicate e persino interruttori della luce in legno, esaltando la sensazione di fare un salto indietro nel tempo.
Gli ospiti apprezzano l'aspetto antico e lo stile tradizionale, anche se alcuni notano piccoli inconvenienti come camere fredde con termosifoni non regolabili. Pur essendo un po' distante dal centro storico, la posizione rimane centrale, a soli 15 minuti a piedi dal cuore di Salisburgo e a 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria. La qualità tradizionale dell'hotel e gli elevati standard di autenticità lo rendono un soggiorno affascinante per chi desidera elementi storici e un legame con il passato, rendendo speciale ogni visita a Salisburgo.

Major city growth and development of railroads made it necessary to expand the city of Salzburg by the end of 19th century. The former swamp-area outside the city walls was dried during that time, the train station of Salzburg was built and around it, a whole new quarter, all built in 1900 style, was developed. The Adlerhof is one of those buildings and - at least in Salzburg - a rare example of this building style.
During WWII the main train station was heavily bombed and altough the station itself was not destroyed, most buildings around it were. The Adlerhof building, miraculously was not harmed, so it stayed in the same style. The building hosted a cafe during the whole time of its existence, so what is now used as the breakfast room is the original 1900 cafe-location (very beautiful!)

Near the Adlerhof is the main train station of Salzburg - which was also built by the end of 19th century by a scholar of Gustave Eiffel (it is a very beautiful example of 1900 train station architecture!). The historic city core of Salzburg (baroque style buildings) is just about 15 - 20 walking minutes away.

Our house is very different from the usual architecture and history, which made the rest of Salzburg so famous. Rather it is a part of modern Austrian history that is resembled here in our house - but the more ancient parts of Salzburg are just a short walk away ;)
